Beacon Programme

What is the Beacon Programme?

The Beacon Programme is a community-based Family Support initiative that aims to provide support and assistance to families who may be going through a difficult time.

Under the Beacon Programme, Family Support workers who are based in the Family Resource Centres in Drogheda, Kells & Trim will work closely with families for a number of weeks, providing support, advice, advocacy and linking with other services as required.

What will the Family Support worker do for my family?

A Family Support worker will meet with you and your family to see how things are for you at the moment, what is working well and what supports would be helpful for your family.

A ‘Family Support’ plan will be drawn up with you, that ensures your voice is heard.

How we work….

We will focus on your family’s strengths & what is currently working well for you. some examples of other supports might be:
Regular contact including home visits
Helping you to connect with other supports in your local community
Working with you and others such as the school, disability and health services and other agencies
Help with parenting issues
Encouraging family activities and further education
