Footsteps.

Mission Statement

We put the strengths and needs of young people at the heart of our work through the development of positive, meaningful relationships that are based on mutual understanding and trust. We seek to challenge the inequalities that exist by providing equality of condition to all young people in our service so that they may realise and reach their full potential. We strive to ensure that young people feel connected and respected and that they can contribute positively to their world

Footsteps Programme is a Voluntary Youth Development programme for 16-22-year-olds who are currently out of education or employment and in need of additional supports. This programme supports a young person to engage in personal development, vocational training and positive peer group activities.

Footsteps help build and develop life skills that foster good relations, build confidence and resilience, and enhance their employability skills. The young people participate in a range of programmes that are individualised and bespoke, intensive, and meet their developmental and educational needs. All the participants are engaging in educational and personal development programmes ranging from taster to part-time and full-time programmes and courses.

In addition, individual work is being carried out with each participant on a weekly basis focusing on personal development, confidence building, goal setting, general independent living skills, social skills, CV and job preparation, mental health, and general well-being.
